Sports Authority announced earlier this week that it has filed petitions to restructure under Chapter 11 of the U.S. Bankruptcy Code. The Englewood, Colo.-based company, known as TSA Stores Inc., said it plans to close 140 stores and two distribution centers in Denver and Chicago.

Most of the store closures are planned outside of the Midwest, but the list does include 11 stores in Illinois, two in Ohio, one in Michigan and one in Minnesota.
