Southwest themed restaurant planned downtown

TLA Investments LLC has applied for city licenses to open Agave Southwest Bar & Grill at 800 N. Plankinton Ave. in downtown Milwaukee.

The restaurant will be located in a first floor retail space in the Cawker Building, a five-story, 117-year-old building located at the northeast corner of Plankinton Avenue and Wells Street.

The space was formerly occupied by Espana Tapas House, which closed recently. Prior to that the space was occupied by Butch’s Clock Steak House, which closed in 2009.

The registered agent for TLA Investments is Taoufik Lahrache, according to state records. Lahrache was a business partner with Joey Elbiadi for Espana Tapas House.
