Software company to occupy Menomonee Valley building

John Shannon, who developed Quick Cable Corp. in Franksville, plans to purchase a 122-year-old, 10,900-square-foot building at 2045 W. St. Paul Ave., in Milwaukee’s Menomonee Valley. He plans to spend $300,000 to restore the building, which has been vacant for more than two years, and most recently was occupied by an antique store.

The first floor of the building will be occupied by Shannon’s software development company, Caledonia Projects. The second floor will be occupied by MiCA (Milwaukee Contemporary Arts, an art gallery. Caledonia Projects will have 6-12 employees and the art gallery will have 1-3 employees.

Shannon has developed several companies, most recently Quick Cable Corp. in Franksville (Racine County). In April, Quick Cable was sold to Minnetonka, Minn.-based Tonka Bay Equity Partners.
