The Reggie White Sleep Disorders Research & Education Foundation held its inaugural golf outing fundraiser recently at Hawk’s View Golf Club in Lake Geneva. The event raised more than $60,000 for the cause. The funds will be used to provide free screening for sleep apnea through inner city health clinics and free treatment for uninsured people who are then diagnosed with sleep apnea. The funds will also be used in conjunction with a $15,000 grant from the NFL Retired Players Association to develop a DVD that describes the dangers of sleep apnea for professional athletes.
