Six Wisconsin companies make World’s Most Ethical Companies list

Among 128 honored globally

Six Wisconsin-based companies are included in the 2019 World’s Most Ethical Companies list by Ethisphere.

Milwaukee-based ManpowerGroup, Milwaukee-based Rockwell Automation, Menomonee Falls-based Kohl’s, Oshkosh-based Oshkosh Corp., Madison-based WPS Health Solutions and Johnson Controls all made the list. Johnson Controls is technically based in Ireland for tax purposes, but its North American operational headquarters is in Glendale.

Ethisphere has honored the world’s most ethical companies since 2007. In 2019, 128 companies are being honored from 21 countries and 50 industries.

This is the 10th year that ManpowerGroup has made the World’s Most Ethical Companies list.

“Our business was founded on strong ethical foundations 70 years ago and these values remain more relevant than ever today,” said Jonas Prising, ManpowerGroup chairman and CEO. “Our leaders set the tone and everyone is responsible for keeping our ethical compass firmly in place, creating a culture where people can achieve their full potential. Like many organizations, we see high ethical standards, trust and transparency becoming increasingly important for all stakeholders: investors, clients and especially employees.”

Rockwell Automation made the list for the 11th time.

“Our reputation for integrity is built on the decisions we make every day, and I am proud that Ethisphere has recognized our commitment to ethics once again,” said Blake Moret, chairman, and CEO, Rockwell Automation. “Our integrity value is a business imperative that helps us attract great customers, employees, and partners.”

This is the first time Kohl’s has made the list.

“At Kohl’s, we strive to hold ourselves and each other accountable to act with integrity by honoring our commitments, treating others with respect, and making ethical decisions,” said Steve Thomas, Kohl’s chief risk and compliance officer. “Being recognized as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies is a testament not only to our ethics and compliance programs, our governance and our corporate reputation, but also the everyday behaviors, actions and choices of thousands of associates across all levels of our organization.”

This is the fourth year in a row that Oshkosh Corp. has made the list.

“Thanks to the strong ethical commitment from our more than 15,000 team members around the world, we are proud to have earned the title of one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies for the fourth consecutive year,” said Wilson R. Jones, Oshkosh Corporation president and chief executive officer. “Being honored to this prestigious list once again underscores our unwavering focus on doing the right thing in everything that we do.”
