Shorewest reports best year ever

Buoyed by low interest rates and strong sales in Brookfield and Waukesha, Shorewest Realtors reports it is having "best year ever," with overall new listings rising 14.4% over last year’s total to date.
"Our new listings are up 14.4% over last year, and our sold units are up 13.5% – more than twice any other area broker," said Joann Glawe, vice president and general sales manager of Shorewest. "Our volume is up 20.6%. In 2002, we had $1.11 billion in sales on our books in June and this year we hit $1.12 billion booked in May. This is our best year ever."
In May, Shorewest reported a record-breaking month in four of its sales offices – Brookfield/Waukesha, Northshore, Northwest Milwaukee and Southridge.
The Brookfield/Waukesha Office led the way with a record 202 units and $44.2 million in real estate sold.
"We’re also growing in the number of professional sales associates in all of our offices," said Glawe. "We have added 138 new sales associates this year. What’s more, 25% of these are experienced agents who left our competitors to join us."
To accommodate the growth, several of Shorewest’s offices are undergoing or have just completed extensive expansions, featuring semi-private office space and upgraded technology.
All of Shorewest’s offices now have a new wireless network that allows its associates access to the company’s proprietary system from anywhere in the facility without worrying about cables or plugs.
Shorewest currently controls more than 27% of the metropolitan Milwaukee real estate market, according to Metro Milwaukee Multiple Listing Service. Shorewest is ranked 11th in the nation in closed transactions by Real Trends, a national real estate newsletter.
