S.C. Johnson & Son Inc. recently purchased an eight cabin resort directly north of its own Lighthouse Resort near Lac Du Flambeau, Wisconsin.
The Racine-based consumer products company purchased the land and buildings for Wegner’s Lazy Days Resort from Thomas and Judith Wegner for $1.45 million, according to state records. The 2.9 acre property is assessed at $767,500, according to Vilas County tax records.
The Lazy Days Resort has eight cabins ranging from one to three bedrooms. It has 240 feet of lakefront frontage on Fence Lake.
S.C. Johnson already owns four parcels, which make up Lighthouse Resort, immediately south of Lazy Days Resort, covering 11 acres. Lighthouse Resort has 22 cabins and a lodge the company makes available to employees for vacations.
The company declined to comment on whether it planned to expand the Lighthouse Resort into the Lazy Days property. S.C. Johnson purchased the Lighthouse Resort in 1951.
“As a private, family company, we make it a policy to not discuss our business transactions,” the company said in a statement.
