Milwaukee Brewers star Ryan Braun and AirTran Airways will host a media home run derby to benefit the YMCA on Thursday, April 30, from 12 noon until 2 p.m. at Helfaer Field at Miller Park.
The two round slow-pitch softball derby will feature participants from the local media. Brewers personality Davey Nelson will serve as the pitcher for the event. A trophy will be presented to the Milwaukee media homerun king/queen at the conclusion of the event.
AirTran Airways is donating $10,000 to the YMCA to celebrate the event. And the event marks the first appearance by Braun for AirTran Airways since they reached an endorsement deal in March.
