Rust-Oleum to expand in Pleasant Prairie

Rust-Oleum to plans to invest $1.3 million to upgrade its Pleasant Prairie plant expand its small batch spray paint production. The expansion will create 54 new jobs.

Most of the aerosol paint that Rust-Oleum sells comes in six different colors. They can be manufactured in large batches. Rust-Oleum is adding an additional small batch aerosol assembly line to their existing facility. Much of the growth in the paint market is for more unusual colors that are produced in small batches.

Rust-Oleum is eligible for up to $350,000 in tax credits through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC).

“I commend Rust-Oleum for its investment in its Pleasant Prairie operation to meet a growing demand,” said Gov. Scott Walker, who visited the plant Thursday. “The company has also invested in worker training as part of its overall expansion of its workforce.”
