Oconomowoc-based Rogers Behavioral Health System, Wisconsin’s largest nonprofit mental health and addiction services provider, plans to open new obsessive-compulsive disorder and anxiety treatment centers in Chicago and Nashville.
Both new clinics will open in mid-2015.
Jim Ledbetter, Rogers’ vice president of regional development, said, “Rogers Behavioral Health has one of the largest and most comprehensive OCD programs in the world, and our organization is excited to be continuing our expansion efforts outside of Wisconsin to help those adults, adolescents and children in greater Chicago and Nashville who need our assistance.”
Rogers opened its first center outside of Wisconsin in Tampa, Fla., in September.
The Chicago and Nashville locations will each offer two approaches to OCD and anxiety treatment: an intensive outpatient program, which consists of treatment three hours a day, four days per week; and a partial hospitalization program, which consists of treatment six hours a day, four days per week. Treatment often lasts four to six weeks. Board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists will be joined by psychologists and therapists to assist in this intensive, specialized treatment.
Future plans include adding services for eating disorder treatment.
“We recognize there is a great need for specialized mental health services in both these regions of the country, and we are excited to be able to utilize Rogers’ depth of experience in these intensive programs,” said Dr. Stephanie Eken, regional medical director for Rogers’ PHP and IOP programs. “We hope that, over time, we can grow both of these locations based upon regional demand.”
Rogers is nationally recognized as a leader in cognitive behavioral therapy-based treatment, or CBT, with an emphasis on exposure and response prevention for care of OCD and related anxiety disorders. Outcomes research has found this approach helpful for 85 percent of adults and children with OCD and anxiety disorders.
