Rogers Memorial plans $12 million Brown Deer hospital

Rogers Memorial Hospital plans to convert and expand its Brown Deer outpatient facility into a 56-bed inpatient behavior health hospital. The estimated cost of the project is $12 million, according to Brown Deer community development director Nate Piotrowski.

The hospital will have 300 employees, according to information submitted to the village.

Last year, Rogers Memorial Hospital purchased the 58,000-square-foot building at 4600 Schroeder Dr., Brown Deer, for $2.15 million. The building is currently about half-empty, Piotrowski said. Rogers Memorial’s outpatient clinic, which provices day treatment services for children and adolescents, occupies a portion of the building and a few other tenants occupy space there.

Rogers Memorial plans to expand its operations to occupy the entire building and convert it to a 56-bed inpatient hospital, Piotrowski said. The organization is seeking village approval for the expansion, he said.

Rogers Memorial also recently purchased a 53,978-square-foot office building across the street at 4555 W. Schroeder Dr., Brown Deer, from Ripp Properties for $1.8 million. The sale was brokered by John Dulmes and Dan Walsh of Siegel-Gallagher, who represented Ripp Properties, and Jim Sedgewich from VJS Construction Services, who represented Rogers Memorial.

The organization has not submitted any plans to the village for the 4555 W. Schroeder Dr. office building, Piotrowski said.

“We anticipate that is going to be used more as office space (for Rogers Memorial) not hospital use,” he said.

Currently, the building is mostly vacant with a small number of tenants, Piotrowski said.
