Rogers Memorial names VP of operations for Brown Deer Hospital

Rogers Memorial Hospital has rounded out its leadership team for its new Brown Deer hospital campus with the announcement of Jim Kubicek as vice president of operations. The hospital is expected to open in mid-2015.

Kubicek will oversee day-to-day operations of the Rogers Memorial Hospital–Brown Deer campus, located at 4600 W. Schroeder Drive. The new 56-bed inpatient hospital will be located across the street from its outpatient center, which offers specialized mental health treatment for children, adolescents and adults.

Kubicek is currently transitioning into his role and will become full-time in mid-January. The former deputy administrator of crisis, acute and long-term care services of the Milwaukee County Behavioral Health Division served in several administrative positions there since joining the division in 1996.

“Jim brings tremendous experience in inpatient behavioral healthcare and knowledge of the local market and community needs,” said Rogers Memorial Hospital chief executive officer Paul Mueller. “We are fortunate to have him coming on board.”

“The reputation that Rogers has in the behavioral health world is exemplary. This is a great opportunity that does not come along often: to open a new facility and establish its vision and direction,” Kubicek said. “I am very appreciative of this opportunity and look forward to assuring safe, quality services that meet the high standards that Rogers personifies.”

Kubicek’s hiring completes the initial leadership team for the campus, which includes Dr. Roger Luhn, child and adolescent psychiatrist and Brown Deer campus medical director; Jessica Pitre, clinical services manager;  Dr. Ahmed Numaan, medical director of adult services; and James Welsh, director of operations for the intensive outpatient and partial hospitalization programs.

Numaan, who was recently appointed, is the vice president of Rogers’ medical staff and a board-certified adult psychiatrist practicing full-time at Rogers Memorial Hospital–West Allis. He also has provided services on behalf of Rogers at Columbia St. Mary’s and Waukesha Memorial hospitals. Prior to joining Rogers in 2008, he served as medical director of the behavioral health unit at St. Joseph Hospital in West Bend.

Welsh, another recent hire, has more than 20 years of experience in clinical and administrative capacities in Milwaukee and Waukesha. He most recently served as executive director at Jewish Family Services.

Rogers Memorial treats behavioral health patients and has facilities in West Allis, Oconomowoc, Kenosha, Madison and Tampa, Fla., in addition to Brown Deer.
