Robert T. Schwartz

MIAD’s Board of Trustees has elected Robert T. Schwartz as board chair.

Schwartz, vice president for Global Design & User Experience at GE Healthcare, is a Fellow of the Industrial Designers Society of American (IDSA). At GE Healthcare, he oversees industrial design, design thinking, human factors, ergonomics, user-interface, environmental design and design research. Schwartz also is the GE Healthcare Global Executive Sponsor of the People with Disabilities Network, a member of the GEHC Brand Council and is a faculty member/advisor to GE Corporate’s Mother & Child Initiative in Africa. His distinguished career has included executive leadership roles at Procter & Gamble, Levolor Kirsch, Motorola, IDSA and AdvaMed.

He has a bachelor’s degree in industrial design and graphic design from the Kansas City Art Institute and master’s degree in industrial design from the Rhode Island School of Design.
