Milwaukee-based Rexnord Corp. has acquired the assets of Micro Precision Gear Technology Ltd., a UK-based specialty precision aerospace gears manufacturer.
Micro Precision makes gears, shafts and core packs, mostly for the civil aerospace industry. They are used in actuation, flight control and power generation on aircraft around the world.
The company has 85 employees and about $14 million in annual sales.
“Micro Precision’s deep technical capability has allowed them to build strong partnerships with key customers on growth aerospace programs,” said Darryl Mayhorn, president of Rexnord Aerospace. “The combination of the two companies provides the ability to bring additional content to our existing aerospace customers, while building on Micro Precision’s customer relationships. Together we offer an expanded portfolio of mission-critical, highly efficient aerospace components, sub-assemblies and services.”
Rexnord has about 7,300 employees on its two main platforms: process and motion control and water management.
