Retail market tallies major absorption in fourth quarter

The metro Milwaukee retail real estate market finished 2012 strong absorbing 490,000 square feet of space, according to the latest report from Xceligent and the Commercial Association of Realtors Wisconsin (CARW).

The biggest source of absorption for the area’s retail real estate market was the addition of several new Walmart stores.

“With Walmart’s continued expansion in the marketplace they were responsible for the largest absorption,” said CARW president and CEO Jim Villa.
