The Commonwealth Fund today released its “Scorecard on State Health System Performance,” ranking Wisconsin seventh in the nation.
The “Scorecard” assesses states on 42 indicators of health care access, quality, costs and outcomes over the 2007-2012 period.
Wisconsin’s overall rank in the 2009 report was ninth overall. Minnesota ranked highest in the region at number one overall in both 2009 and 2014 rankings. Indiana ranked lowest in the region, in the bottom quartile in the new study, at 43rd overall (31st 2009).

- Access: 7th (9th, 2009)
- Prevention and Treatment: 3rd (8th, 2009)
- Avoidable Hospital Use and Costs: 19th (21st, 2009)
- Healthy Lives: 17th (11th, 2009)
