Refuge Smoothie Cafe to open Bradley Center kiosk

Refuge Smoothie Cafe plans to open a kiosk in the BMO Harris Bradley Center, and yesterday applied to the city for a food dealer retail license for the space.

Refuge has three Milwaukee retail locations: inside the Milwaukee Athletic Club, at 758 N. Broadway downtown; on the east side, at 2328 N. Farwell Ave.; and in Bay View, at 422 E. Lincoln Ave.

The license is expected to be approved this week, said owner Joshua Janis. He is hoping to have the kiosk, which is in on the second floor in the northwest corner of the stadium, open for Friday’s Milwaukee Admirals game.

The café would serve at every Milwaukee Bucks game, every Marquette men’s basketball game, and other events of its choice.

“With my communication with the Bucks and my thinking is they don’t have a whole lot of options for quick and healthy food, so I thought that this was an opportunity to expand what they offer and also to grow refuge. So it was a win-win,” Janis said.
