Home Industries Real estate profile: Gordon Steimle

Real estate profile: Gordon Steimle

vice president, commercial brokerage/leasing, Ogden & Company Inc.

Title: Vice president commercial brokerage/leasing
Company: Ogden & Company Inc.
Education: BA from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee
Family: "Married to my beautiful wife Becky with three great children, Jon, 17; Elise, 15; and Christopher, 10."
City of Residence: Milwaukee, Washington Heights Neighborhood
Hobbies and Interests: Architecture, antiques and travel.
What are you working on? "The sale of a strip shopping center, land and building search for contracting firm, and looking for investment opportunities for several clients."
How does the market look to you? "The market is still very healthy for commercial real estate. There are lots of buyers looking for real estate investments. The only cloud is the change in people’s perception due to all the media attention about the problems in the sub-prime loan market, the sluggishness of the residential sales and the recent fluctuations in the stock market. These stories tend to make people more cautious."
What was the best deal you’ve ever been involved in? "I have been involved in a number of interesting deals over the last 20 years, but the ones I enjoy the most are where I get the opportunity to be personally involved in the real estate. Representing clients in transactions is very satisfying, but it is also great to have a personal stake too."
