Title: chief estimator

Company: Mortenson Construction

Education: Bachelor of science, construction administration, UW-Madison

City of Residence: Village of Merton

Hobbies and Interests: "Spending time with my family, sailing, biking, hiking, camping."

What are you working on? "We are currently in the preconstruction phase of the Aurora Medical Center in Summit, the state-of-the-art Wisconsin Institute for Discovery (WID) and the Morgridge Institute for Research (MIR) facilities in Madison, and the Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, Va."

How does the market look to you? "It is unbelievable how much work is going on currently in Milwaukee and southeastern Wisconsin. I noticed a slight decrease of new projects in the third quarter of 2007, but normal activity levels have returned during the fourth quarter."

What was the best deal you’ve ever been involved in? "I have been involved in so many projects, it is hard to pinpoint one. We generate over 200 estimates every year. The best thing about the construction industry is that there are so many great people to work with."
