Milwaukee-based Mandel Group Inc. recently received the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin’s 2007 Corporation of the Year Award. Mandel Group was recognized for providing leadership in addressing the critical needs of emerging minority businesses, taking a hands-on approach to developing Hispanic and other minority-owned businesses, increasing employment in urban communities and enhancing Milwaukee’s small business landscape.

Milwaukee-based Brillo Home Improvements Inc. was named the 2008 Regional Construction of the Year in the commercial specialty category by the National Association of the Remodeling Industry (NARI). The project submitted for the award was a three-story addition to a 144-year-old, three-story brick building on Milwaukee’s east side. The building was once occupied by the inventor of the typewriter, Christopher Latham Sholes, and is now occupied by The Relocation Center Inc., a professional relocation company.
