Renner Architects has pre-sold more than “half of the value” of its 101-unit BreakWater Condominiums project. IPic Entertainment Dec. 7 at Bayshore. City issues RFP for former Finney Library property

Renner Architects announced this week that it has pre-sold more than "half of the value" of its 101-unit BreakWater Condominiums project. The BreakWater Condominiums is the 20-story, 101-unit condominium development that Renner Architects is building at 1313 N. Franklin Place. The condo units in BreakWater are priced between $225,000 and $1.15 million. The development is expected to be complete in the spring of 2009. The former Christopher East Medical Center building was demolished to make way for BreakWater. Renner also announced this week that the excavation for the project is complete and footings for the 260-foot tower are going in. On Dec. 2 what Renner says is "believed to be the largest Crawler crane in the State of Wisconsin" will be delivered to the site via 16 semi trucks and assembled on the street in front of the project. The 250-ton Kobelco crane has a 190-foot boom plus a 200-foot jib and can reach 400 feet. It will take two to three days to assemble the crane. IPic Entertainment will open its new lounge, restaurant, movie theater and bowling alley at Bayshore Town Center in Glendale on Dec. 7. The entertainment center is located on the second floor of Bayshore, next to Bar Louie. More information about IPic is available at: www.ipicentertainment.com

The City of Milwaukee is seeking development proposals for the former Finney Library property at 4232 W. North Ave. The 29,800-square-foot property, located at the southeast corner of West North Avenue and North Sherman Boulevard, has a 9,000-square-foot, 55-year-old building. The city is asking $290,000 for the property. Proposals are due to the Department of City Development on Jan. 8.
