Community workshop Thursday for Watertown high speed rail station
The state Department of Transportation (DOT) will host a community workshop from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 15, at the Watertown Senior Center, 514 S. First St., Watertown, to discuss the Watertown high speed rail station plans. The workshop will include information on the Watertown station site and a corridor review.

GRAEF hired to inspect Milwaukee County buildings
Milwaukee County hired Milwaukee-based engineering firm GRAEF-USA Inc. to inspect 100 Milwaukee County buildings. County officials decided to inspect the buildings after a concrete slab fell off the O’Donnell Park parking structure in downtown Milwaukee, killing a 15-year-old boy and injuring two others.

Groundbreaking ceremony today for central city medical and dental center
Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and the Next Door Foundation will hold a groundbreaking ceremony this morning to celebrate the start of construction of a 7,700-square-foot medical and dental center at 2545 N. 29th St. in Milwaukee’s central city. The facility is expected to open in the spring of 2011. Children’s Medical Group-Next Door Pediatrics, a member of the Children’s Hospital family, currently provides medical care to children at Next Door Foundation, as well as those from the Metcalf Park neighborhood. Next Door Pediatrics will move into the new building alongside the new dental center.
