Habitat for Humanity turns over homes to owners
Nineteen Milwaukee families will become homeowners this month, taking ownership of homes through the Milwaukee Habitat for Humanity program. The homes were built in the city’s Park West neighborhood, located on the northwest side and bounded by Burleigh Street on the north, Center Street and North Avenue on the south, 20th Street on the east and 27th Street on the west. Habitat families must put in 250 to 400 hours of sweat equity in home building work to acquire a home through the organization.
Legacy Redevelopment Corp. relocates
Now that Chicago-based Seaway Bank and Trust Co. has taken over Legacy Bank in Milwaukee, Legacy Redevelopment Corp. and Legacy Midwest Renewal Corp., which were founded by Legacy Bank principal Sally Peltz, have relocated to 1200 W. North Ave. Legacy Redevelopment Corp. is a non-profit community development financial institutional revolving loan fund that focuses on housing and commercial real estate in Milwaukee. Legacy Midwest Renewal Corp., a nonprofit real estate developer, is a subsidiary of Legacy Redevelopment Corp.
