First residents move into 1910 on Water
The first residents of 1910 on Water, one of several apartment developments that have been under construction or that are being planned in or near downtown Milwaukee, moved in during the weekend. The 68-unit apartment development is located at 1910 N. Water St., Milwaukee, north of the downtown area. The developer for the project is Wauwatosa-based Wangard Partners.

Snap Fitness Centers to move to larger locations
The owners of Snap Fitness Bay View and Snap Fitness Menomonee Falls announced the centers’ moves to new, larger locations. The new Snap Fitness Bay View is located at 2450 S. Kinnickinnic Ave., just north of its former location. The center will host a re-opening celebration on Sept. 24. Snap Fitness Menomonee Falls, located at N72 W13400 Lund Lane, will host a similar re-opening celebration on Oct. 1. In expanding the size of both locations, the 24/7 fitness centers offer expanded workout areas complete with an even wider array of state-of-the-art cardio and weight-training equipment, and a Fitness On Demand room where around-the-clock fitness classes are available at no additional charge.

Parade of Homes attracts big crowds
About 28,000 people attended the 2012 Metropolitan Builders Association Parade of Homes from Aug. 18-Sept. 9, the MBA said. The Parade of Homes featured 16 homes from 14 homebuilders in two subdivisions, Still River in Pewaukee and Quail Haven in Menomonee Falls. “Such high attendance at two sites demonstrates that the housing market is improving,” said Kristine Hillmer, MBA executive director. Half of the model homes featured in the Parade of Homes have already been sold and are no longer available for viewing.

Toppers Pizza opens in West Milwaukee
Toppers Pizza today is opening a restaurant at1403 Miller Park Way in West Milwaukee. Toppers has 46 locations in Wisconsin and plans to open another eight locations in the state this year.

Highland Commons opens in West Allis
Highland Commons, a $9.4 million supportive housing development at 6700 W. Beloit Road, West Allis, for people with mental illness will have a grand opening celebration on Thursday, Sept. 20. Cardinal Capital Management Inc. and Milwaukee Center for Independence are partners in the development. Reichl Construction was the general contractor for the project.
