Downtown Racine Chase Bank building to be sold at auction
The two-story, 40,797-square-foot Chase Bank building, located at 500 Wisconsin Ave. in downtown Racine, will be sold at an auction by United Country Beloit Auction & Realty Inc. The building has an assessed value of $1.646 million. Two-thirds of the building is occupied by Chase Bank, which has 13 years remaining on its lease. The auction will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 21, at the building. More information about the auction is available by calling (877) 364-1965.

Grand opening for The Park at 1824

A ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. today for The Park at 1824, a new 175-unit apartment building at 1824 E. Park Place, on Milwaukee’s east side. The apartment complex is located about four blocks from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee campus. The building was developed by Wauwatosa-based Wangard Partners and is managed by Milwaukee-based Ogden & Company Inc. "The Park offers unique, state-of-the-art amenities and will fulfill the need for upscale urban living near campus," said Peter Ogden, president of Ogden & Company.

South Milwaukee gets a downtown farmers market

The South Milwaukee downtown farmer’s market will debut on Thursday, July 23, at the corner of 11th and Milwaukee avenues. The market will be open from 3:30-7:30 p.m. “We believe strongly in the potential of downtown South Milwaukee, and this market is a real example of that commitment,” said Bob Pfeiffer, chairman of the South Milwaukee Downtown Market Committee. “This market will help more than just the bottom lines of the vendors that take part. It will lift our city center.”
