The board of directors of the Wisconsin Hispanic Scholarship Foundation & Mexican Fiesta has announced the purchase of the 19,930-square-foot Hunt Electric Building at 1220 W. Windlake Ave. in Milwaukee.
The administrative offices of Mexican Fiesta will move from their present location at 1030 W. Mitchell St. to the Windlake Avenue site.
The 26-year-old organization said the purchase will allow the foundation to expand its services offered to the Hispanic community and permit for additional year-round activities.
The foundation’s primary activity is Mexican Fiesta, which will be held for the 24th time this year. It reports that it has contributed more than $630,000 to local Hispanic students and to local non-profits.
The foundation employs three people year around and has more than 500 volunteers working for it.
The foundation and Mexican Fiesta also intend to use part of the space as a business incubator, offering assistance and work space to start-up businesses at a nominal rate.
The building’s owner, Keith Fisher, has moved his operation to Waukesha.
The sale price was $135,000, according to David Lange, the NAI MLG Commercial broker who represented Fisher.

  • MLG Commercial, Brookfield, has announced that Wispark has sold 4.72 acres in the Westridge Business Park in New Berlin to TLE Enterprises, doing business as Color Graphic Systems. TLE will construct two 25,000-square-foot buildings on the site, according to MLG principal and broker Mark Schnoll. Color Graphics will occupy 10,000 square feet in one of the buildings; work will begin on that structure in the spring.
    John Maletz has sold a 5,000-square-foot building at N48 W14666 Hampton Rd. in Menomonee Falls to Lakeland Electric, according to MLG Commercial broker Stephen Provancher. Lakeland, which paid $115,000 for the building, took occupancy in January and plans to expand its business from the site.
    Richard Struck and Scott Nelson of Process Displays have leased space in New Berlin, according to NAI MLG Commercial. Beer Construction was the lessor. The 10,863-square-foot space is at 3200 S. 166th St., near Process Display’s current location. They plan to use the site for offsite warehousing.
    The Salvation Army has purchased a 53,660-square-foot building in Wauwatosa from M&I Marshall & Ilsley Bank, according to NAI MLG Commercial’s Steve Anderson, who represented The Salvation Army. The building, at 11315 W. Watertown Plank Rd. and 1140 N. 115th St., sold for $1.3 million.
  • Wangard Partners of Wauwatosa has announced the sale of 18.048 acres of land to the Indian Community School of Milwaukee, Inc., for $720,000. The land, on the north side of Loomis Road west of Highway 100 in Franklin, is part of a large land assemblage planned for the school. The proposed school would house kindergarten through 12th grades; construction would begin next year.
    Wangard Partners has also announced the lease of 15,750 square industrial/office space to Dish Network Services Corp. The new 42,000-square-foot facility is at 1814 Dolphin Dr. in Waukesha.
  • The Hartford Dance Academy has leased the 2,000-square-foot facility at 1588 E. Sumner St. in Hartford, from Robert and Sherry Schaefer, according to David Buckley of the James T. Barry Co., who brokered the transaction.
  • The Dickman Co. of Milwaukee has announced the following property leases:
    – 29,000 square feet of industrial space at 8201 W. Calumet Rd. in Milwaukee for The Marley Co.;
    – 23,450 square feet of industrial space at 1600 N. 6th St. in Milwaukee for Allegiance Telecom Company Worldwide;
    – 12,800 square feet of industrial space at N53 W24794 S. Corporate Circle, Sussex, for Business Marketers Group;
    – 20,000 square feet of industrial space at 6724 S. 13th St. in Oak Creek for Technical Transportation;
    – 11,053 square feet of industrial space at 440 Bell Ct. in Oak Creek for Hellman Worldwide Logistics.
    The Dickman Co. has announced the following sales:
    – Lots three and four (5.5 acres plus outlot) of the Liberty Woods Business Park in Oak Creek to Robert Fransway, sold by the City of Oak Creek;
    – 1600 N. 6th St., Milwaukee, a 23,600-square-foot industrial facility, to Walnut, LLC, sold by CDW Realco.
