‘Project Pitch It’ opens fourth season to students

Wisconsin entrepreneurship pitch television show “Project Pitch It” is calling on middle and high school students to audition for its fourth season, airing next year on WISN-TV Channel 12.

Applications are now being accepted, with in-person auditions scheduled for the week of Oct. 14 at Cardinal Stritch University in Fox Point, said Bev Greenberg, the show’s executive producer.

This season will be the first time the eight-episode “Shark Tank”-inspired program will feature student entrepreneurs.

“We know that when you have an entrepreneurial spirit, it often shows itself in middle and high school and we would like to encourage that by opening up the possibility of being on ‘Project Pitch It,'” Greenberg said.

Greenburg said the move is also an effort to support the growth of innovation and entrepreneurship programming at schools across the state.

In past seasons, three entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to a panel of Milwaukee business moguls during each episode to receive an award– either $10,000 in cash, business classes and mentorship at Cardinal Stritch, or a mogul-hosted forum with investors and industry experts.

“It’s a win-win. They get not only the exposure to our television audiences, and help creating their pitch, but also they’ll go home with something that has great value,” Greenburg said.

The show is still finalizing details of a new award this season for student participants and their respective schools, she said.
