The Case IH plant in Racine resumed production today, less than one week after a tornado ripped a hole in its roof, causing significant damage. Two employees were hurt in the storm, but did not receive serious injuries.
All of the company’s 641 employees in Racine are expected to report for work today, Case said in a news release.
“Our goal all along has been to restore full production as quickly as possible,” said Duane Nelson, Case IH spokesperson.
The storm also destroyed several garage doors and access doors, and a semi-tractor trailer was overturned at the plant. The factory also sustained significant water damage from the driving rains. In addition, several vehicles owned by Case employees also were damaged, Nelson said.
