Potawatomi launches 2016 ‘Heart of Canal Street’ charity program

Names of 10 charities to receive money announced

Potawatomi Hotel & Casino in Milwaukee announced the names of 10 charities that will receive money from its 2016 “Heart of Canal Street” charity event.

The “Heart of Canal Street” program, formerly known as “Miracle on Canal Street,” raises funds for organizations based in southeastern Wisconsin that serve kids. Since 1994, Potawatomi has donated nearly $16 million to charities in southeastern Wisconsin through the program.

Money has been raised primarily through special bingo games played at the casino each August through December.

The 10 charities were selected by the charity initiative’s media sponsors.

Here’s a list of the organizations and their media sponsor:

  • Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee—presented by Lamar Outdoor
