Rose Oswald Poels is the new president and chief executive officer of the Wisconsin Bankers Association (WBA).
Poels had served as senior vice president and counsel of the WBA, the state’s largest financial industry trade group, has been selected to lead the association.
Robert Just Jr., president and CEO at Mound City Bank, Platteville, and chairman of the WBA board of directors, said Poels was chosen after a nationwide search.
Poels has worked for the WBA and the banking industry for more than 20 years.
“We are extremely pleased to have Rose Oswald Poels lead the WBA as our next president and CEO,” Just said. “She has been a part of the banking industry for over two decades. With her unique banking and legal background, she has a wealth of experience which makes her the ideal candidate to lead this 119-year-old trade association.”
“It is an honor to be selected as the new president/CEO of the WBA,” Poels said. “Banks are the heart and soul of their communities, helping businesses to grow and individuals to realize their dreams. I am proud to represent an industry so vital to our society.”
