PNC Bank recently announced it will donate $75,000 to fund the building of the PNC Healing Garden at Aurora Sinai Medical Center in downtown Milwaukee.
A 3,000-square-foot section of the rooftop at Aurora Sinai Medical Center was recently transformed into a healing garden with 1,341 plant trays and 40 different plant varieties.
The Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewage District, Aurora Sinai Women’s Health Department and Aurora employees also contributed to the garden fund.
“The PNC Healing Garden has many advantages that not only help the environment but also benefit the patients and caregivers of Aurora Sinai,” said George Hinton, vice president and chief administrative officer of Aurora Sinai. “We appreciate the support of PNC and its commitment to the people we serve by making such a generous contribution. The PNC gift, combined with the generosity of the community and our own caregivers helped to make this wonderful addition to our hospital a reality and offer an environment that helps people live well.”
The garden will help promote healing among Aurora Sinai patients, reduce pollution, preserve the environment, save energy and also extend the roof life of the hospital by protecting it from harmful UV rays.
