Comprehensive Plan: No, the City of Pewaukee has not yet completed this update for the year 2035 comprehensive plan, but it will be done before 2010. Being done by Waukesha County Park & L.U. Department. However, Pewaukee adopted a land use plan in 1982, which was updated in 1997.

Basic process of approval or denial of a development plan:

• 1st Meeting & Review of City Planner

• 2nd Meeting & Review of conceptual Plan Commission

• 3rd Meeting & Review of plans commission Common Council – if rezoning or platting involved.

TIF Districts: The City of Pewaukee does not offer any TIF districts.

Redevelopment Aid: The City of Pewaukee does not have or offer any programs for help in redevelopment.

Projects: The city has about four square miles of industrial/commercial private development of which over 90% is completed. The most recent large development would be the R. Steinhafel’s Furniture.

Fee Schedule:

1) Rezoning $300+ publication

2) Conditional Use $300+publication

3) Zoning Appeal $300+publication

Time Schedule for Plan Approval: On average the typical amount of time from submittal to final approval for a new development in the City of Pewaukee can range from about 60 days to six months.

Building or Growth Moratoria: There are currently no building or growth moratoria in place.

Environmental Issues: The City of Pewaukee specifically mentions its policy which does not allow the filling of flood lands or wetlands and requires 40% green space on each lot/parcel.
