What was the smartest thing your company did in the past year?
“We did not deviate from doing the little things that have made us successful. Business has picked up over the past six months and by maintaining our infrastructure, we have the resources in place to continue to provide superior legal services to our clients.”
What’s new at your company?
“This fall, we plan on offering a seminar to our clients and friends entitled, ‘IP Implications of Doing Business with Chinese Companies.’ The seminar provides our clients with a little information on a hot topic in our industry and gives the members of the firm an excuse to have a party.”
Do you plan to hire any additional staff or make any significant capital investments in your company in the next year?
“We added two new associates this summer. As the economy picks up, we want to have the resources in place to properly serve our clients.”
What will be your company’s main challenges in the next year?
“Clearly, the economy is the most significant challenge facing our firm. We project our business to continue to grow slowly in the next year and we will continue to assess and improve various aspects of our firm, as necessary, to enable us to maintain our competitive edge.”
What’s the hottest trend in your industry?
“As I mentioned, right now there is significant interest among our clients in intellectual property protection in China and preventing counterfeit goods from entering the United States.”
Do you have a business mantra?
“Care relentlessly, act graciously and learn continuously.”
What was the best advice you ever received?
“Treat your clients better than you would want to be treated.”
What do you like to do in your free time?
“We are in the process of building a new house, so that pretty much takes up all of my free time. When I do have free time, I enjoy playing with my kids, as well as playing and watching sports.”
