Milwaukee-based Primum Marketing Communications has added Nikki Butgereit as a brand journalist. Butgereit began her career as a technical writer for Johnson Controls, Inc. and Epic Systems and gradually transitioned into marketing communications. She most recently served as marketing manager for TEKLYNX. Butgereit intends to refocus her career in journalism in her new position and work on content strategy and development.

The Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra has hired Catherine Kiekhofer as chief financial officer and vice president, finance and administration; Rachel Reimer as senior accountant; and Adam Rasske, corporate & foundation relations manager.

 

Velia Alvarez has been hired as marketing manager at the Milwaukee Ballet. Alvarez has more than 17 years of experience in communications and was previously the public information manager for the Milwaukee County Board of Supervisors. She will oversee all marketing communications activities for the Milwaukee Ballet.

Jeff Wagner was recently hired as project manager for Triad Construction, Inc., located in West Allis. As a 20-year veteran of the construction industry, Wagner has held many positions in estimating, project management and business ownership. His background includes selective demolition, concrete and carpentry work.

 

 

Education

Dr. Richard Holz, associate dean for resources and planning and professor of chemistry at Loyola University Chicago, has been named dean of Marquette University’s Helen Way Klingler College of Arts and Sciences. Holz will begin his role as dean on July 1, 2013. At Loyola University Chicago, Holz manages budgetary expenditures for all 18 of Loyola’s academic departments and 19 interdisciplinary programs. He served in Loyola’s chemistry department for five years and published more than 90 research articles.

 

Mark Gesner has been appointed faculty chair of community engaged learning and leadership in Cardinal Stritch University’s College of Business and Management. Gesner’s duties include developing courses and community partnerships that fulfill the college’s mission of preparing adaptive business leaders who balance people, planet and profit in service to a greater good. He will teach courses about organizational leadership, cross-cultural management, civic engagement and corporate social responsibility.

 

Brookfield Academy has added Edward Aprahamian, Cynthia Davis and Joel Nettesheim to its board of directors.

Dr. Jessica Taylor Goldstein has been appointed assistant professor of family and community medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She consults patients at the Waukesha Family Medicine Clinic. Her interests include maternity care, reproductive health and working with underserved patients.

 

Dr. Ivor Benjamin has been appointed chief of the division of cardiovascular medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), director of MCW’s Cardiovascular Research Center and vice chair for translational research. Benjamin will also examine patients at Froedert Hospital. His clinical interests include general cardiology, inheritable cardiac failure, and myocardial infarction.

 

Dr. Jon Lehrmann has been named the chair of the department of psychiatry and behavioral medicine for the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW), the Charles E. Kubly Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Medicine, and clinical chief of psychiatry at Froedtert Hospital. Lehrmann currently serves as division manager of the mental health unit at the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center and entered MCW in 1996. His research interests focus on community and veterans’ mental health care, conflict resolution, and psychiatric education.

Leslie Johnson has been appointed director of sales and marketing for the Grand Geneva Resort & Spa and Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark. The company is also welcoming back long-time Marcus Hotels associate Gerald Rappaport as general manager of the Timber Ridge Lodge & Waterpark.

 

Dave Blank, Real Racine president and chief executive officer, has been elected president of the Wisconsin Association of Convention and Visitor Bureaus (WACVB) for 2013-14. Blank has more than 30 years of experience in travel and tourism. He has developed and promoted Racine County national events including the Ironman 70.3 Triathlon, EVP Pro Beach Volleyball Tour, UWP Grand Prix of Watercross, Hot Rod Power Tour, The Color Run and The Biggest Loser RunWalk.

Tony Pagliuca has been appointed creative director of Interior Systems, Inc., headquartered in Milwaukee. Pagliuca served at McDonald’s Worldwide Development team for 18 years. In his new role he will be responsible for graphic design and branding across the organization.

Austin brings over 25 years of experience in contract furniture and workplace design and was most recently co-owner and vice president of operations at Boyd and Austin Flooring.

Patrick Coffey has been hired to the newly formed Corporate Compliance and White Collar Defense Team in Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek S.C.’s Milwaukee and Chicago offices. Fischer has more than 10 years of experience in the legal industry with seven years of career focus on marketing and business development. Kathryn Muldoon has joined the Quarles and Brady LLP Trusts and Estates Practice Group. Martin Tierney has rejoined the Labor and Employment Relations Practice Group as a partner in the Michael Best & Friedrich LLP Milwaukee office. Tierney counsels national and international corporate clients on the implementation and operation of executive compensation arrangements, equity compensation plans, tax qualified retirement plans, health and welfare plans, payroll taxes, and employee benefits matters in mergers and acquisitions. Nonprofit

The American Lung Association in Wisconsin has appointed Megan Cordova senior manager of special events and Katie Halverson program coordinator. As senior manager of special events, Cordova will work on increasing special event revenue, recruiting and engaging high-level volunteer support in fundraising initiatives, and cultivating new and existing donors among other responsibilities. As program coordinator, Halverson will oversee multiple programs, including the association’s various asthma programs.

 

United Way of Greater Milwaukee has hired LaShawndra Vernon as healthy birth outcomes coordinator; Stacey Meyer as business analyst, process improvement and training; Jillian Kokott as volunteer and administrative coordinator; and Alex Boschult as marketing project planner.

 

Peter Blair has been named associate executive director of Milwaukee-based Harry & Rose Samson Family Jewish Community Center where he will provide executive leadership across all of the JCC’s services. He will specifically focus on membership, programming and operations. Blair previously served as director of early childhood education at the Merage Jewish Community Center of Orange County.

Kris Welsh is now the leasing director and assistant project manager of CORE Realty Holdings Management, Inc. in Brookfield. She works with brokers and the City of Brookfield to facilitate deals and occupancy permits. She also assists with property management, including working with contractors for build outs. CORE Realty Holdings Management, Inc. also recently hired Claudette Zoch as senior property manager. Zoch oversees all facilities at Brookfield Lakes Corporate Center and is responsible for management, administration and accounting, supervising the CRH leasing and maintenance teams, providing internal and external communications, and maximizing tenant retention.

 

Joseph McGuire has become regional senior property manager at Greywolf Partners, Inc. in Milwaukee. He will directly manage the Milwaukee market real estate portfolio. With more than 13 years in the real estate industry, he previously was a property manager for Wangard Partners, Inc.

 

Cresa Milwaukee has appointed Steffi Hahn vice president. Hahn was previously a commercial real estate broker at NAI MLG Commercial. Cresa has also hired Regina Levchets as a new associate. Levchets has six years of commercial real estate banking experience. Levchets previously worked at M&I/BMO Harris Bank as assistant vice president and relationship manager on the Milwaukee Commercial Real Estate team.
