Barbara Wanless, owner of Steinway Piano Gallery of Milwaukee, and Jayne L. Perkins, recently retired music and vocal director at Shorewood Intermediate School and High School, have been elected vice president and secretary, respectively, of the Civic Music Association of Milwaukee for the next two seasons. New members recently elected to the CMA Board include Rick Aaron, Michael Betz, Joan Buschman, Chuck Cairns, Sue Doornek and Erik Moeser.

Banking & Finance

Guardian Credit Union, West Allis, recently added Brenda Duce as a mortgage account executive, and also recently promoted Steve Heiderer to assistant vice president of internal audit and compliance. Kelly Stengert has also accepted the position of corporate attorney. She will support Heiderer in handling legal work in the collections department and in identifying and containing compliance risk.

Adam Trout has joined Associated Banc-Corp in a newly established position of director of credit risk management. He has more than 18 years of banking experience to Associated, including 13 years at Union Bank where he most recently served as a senior vice president. Trout will be based at Associated Bank’s downtown Milwaukee Plaza East office location.

Steven Bell, chief executive officer of Community State Bank, Union Grove, was elected chairman of Community Bankers of Wisconsin for 2010-11. Bell joined the bank as vice president in 1982 and was named president in 2001. The 107-year-old bank currently has $270 million in assets, $225 million in deposits and nine locations across the state.

Waukesha State Bank has promoted Heather Pfalz to assistant vice president. Pfalz joined Waukesha State Bank in 1997 as a teller and has held various positions during her tenure. The bank has also promoted Tamara Springer to bank manager of its East Moreland Boulevard branch in Waukesha. Springer started at Waukesha State Bank in 2008 as a personal banker.

Inlanta Mortgage, Waukesha, has added John Malinger to its team as an underwriter to help with the increased volume and rate lock activity it has seen in the past months. Malinger was previously employed as an underwriter with Waterstone Mortgage Corporation and Universal Mortgage. He has more than five years experience and specializes in government loans.

J.H. Findorff and Son Inc., recently promoted Jim Yehle to director of health care. Yehle has worked on a wide range of notable projects since he joined Findorff in 1999, including Edgewood Humanities, Overture Center of the Arts, and the American Family Children’s Hospital. Yehle previously worked as a senior project manager at Findorff.

Milwaukee-based Divine Savior Holy Angels High School has announced additions to its board of directors for the 2010-11 school year. The chair of the 2010-11 board is John Mehan, managing director of public finance at Robert W. Baird & Co. Newly appointed to the board are Paul Grunau, chief operating officer of APi Group Inc.; Dave Neville, vice president of sales for beer Capitol Distributing; and Mary Susan Prescott, alumna and founder of Prescott Medical Communications in Chicago.

Dr. Christine Miller, interim program chair in the Ruth S. Coleman College of Nursing at Cardinal Stritch University in Milwaukee, was recently elected to the Wisconsin Nurses Association Nursing Education Council and re-appointed to the WNA Continuing Education Application Program. Dr. Ruth Waite, dean of the Ruth S. Coleman College of Nursing at Cardinal Stritch was also nominated and recognized as one of the Wisconsin Nurses Association’s 100 Faces of Nursing, which is part of the WNA’s 100th anniversary celebration.

Government

Wayne Johnson was recently appointed harbor master for the Port of Milwaukee by the Board of Harbor Commissioners. The harbor master has the authority and jurisdiction in or over the outer and inner harbor and all vessels or other craft moored or navigating within this area. The harbor master of Milwaukee also has the authority to compel assistance from other watercraft when in need. The harbor master and crew are first responders in the rescue and recovery efforts.

Insurance

Curtis Paul recently joined Integrated Risk Solutions, Pewaukee, as a senior OCIP safety consultant. He will be responsible for the safety of the I-94 expansion and reconstruction project.

Mark Bonovetz was also added as the U.S. Highway 41 construction project senior safety consultant.

Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast recently added Twana Kennedy as its new membership specialist of urban outreach. Kennedy previously worked at Time Warner Cable in Milwaukee and has worked with the local Girl Scouts organization for the past six years.
