First Business Bank, Milwaukee, announced that Dennis Sampson accepted the position of senior vice president. He has more than 21 years of commercial banking experience, focusing on owner-managed businesses in manufacturing, real estate development, and construction.

First Bank Financial Centre, Oconomowoc, added Craig Kouba as vice president of home loan sales and operations. Gary Sherwin was also promoted to vice president, cash management. He has been with the firm for seven years and has over 25 years of experience in the banking industry.

Ebenezer Child Care Centers has named Lisa Lenyard the center coordinator for its new Mequon Center.

Marge Combe, consultant with Vernal Management Consultants, LLC, Milwaukee has been appointed as the chair of the advisory council for the College of Professional Studies at Marquette University.

Education

Darren Jackson, president and chief executive of Advance Auto Parts, was elected chair of the Marquette University Board of Trustees. He succeeds Mary Ellen Stanek, managing director and director of asset management at Robert W. Baird & Company, who served as chair for three years.

Dr. Helen Sobehart, president of Cardinal Stritch University, will serve on the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra Board of Directors. She will serve a three-year term beginning this month.

Divine Savior Holy Angels High School, Milwaukee, added Doug Braun, executive vice president of services for Americas at RedPrairie to the school’s Board of Directors.

Health Care

Brent Phillips, a senior executive at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minn., has accepted the position of chief operating officer of Aurora Medical Group, Milwaukee. Phillips will oversee all operational functions of the 960-physician medical group. Aurora Health Care has also named Michael Lappin, the chair of the corporate services practice group and a member of the executive committee at Quarles & Brady, as its vice president and general counsel.

Dr. Mark Aasen, a board-certified pain management physician and anesthesiologist, has joined the physicians of Advanced Pain Management. Dr. Aasen will be seeing patients at locations throughout the greater Milwaukee area.

Dr. Nick Turkal, president and CEO of Aurora Health Care, Milwaukee, has been selected by the WHA Nominating Committee to serve as WHA’s chair-elect in 2010 and chair in 2011.

Sundance Vacations named Sean Agnew as sales director of the Brookfield sales division. Agnew was previously employed at the Downers Grove, Ill. Sundance Vacations sales office and has been employed by the wholesale travel company since 2005.
