The Milwaukee Ballet has hired Cynthia MacMartin as the director of marketing and public relations, and has promoted Amy Marshall to the position of director of operations. MacMartin is a graduate of the University of Manitoba’s Asper School of Business. In addition to serving as the director of marketing and communications for Canada’s Royal Winnipeg Ballet, MacMartin has also worked as the director of marketing and public relations for the Alvin Ailey Dance Foundation, New York. Prior to arriving at the Milwaukee Ballet, MacMartin served as the public relations director for MPI media Group, Chicago. Marshall is a 1991 graduate of Marquette University’s College of Communications and worked as the director of production for the Florentine Opera before joining the Milwaukee Ballet in 2000 as company manager.

Shapiro is a nationally recognized authority on bioethics issues and serves as professor of bioethics and director of the Bioethics Center at the Medical College of Wisconsin. A 1977 graduate of Harvard University Law School, Shapiro has been in Michael Best & Friedrich’s health care practice since 1992. Joseph Louis Olson has joined Michael Best & Friedrich as an associate and a member of the Litigation Practice Area. He received a B.A., cum laude, from UW-Stevens Point in 2000 and a J.D., cum laude, from the UW Law School in 2003.
Steve Smith has recently joined Murphy Marketing Research/TRENDTOWN, Milwaukee, as vice president/research director. Smith was formally the director of market research with American Society for Quality (ASQ) and has held previous positions on both the market research consulting and advertising agency side of the business. Ellen Nowak has been named director of the Alexian Brothers Pavilion, Milwaukee. Nowak was hired in June 2003 to develop programs at the Pavilion that would unify the surrounding community. Nowak earned a degree from Marquette University in radio broadcasting, and previously worked as an activities coordinator at a nursing home in Menomonee Falls, was a sports announcer at WFAN in New York, and locally for WGLB, WTMJ and WISN radio, respectively.

Sisler obtained his bachelor’s degree with a major in construction management from MSOE in the spring. Chad Schram comes to Ideal from Ameriquest Mortgage Company where he served as an account executive. Robert Brendemuel comes to Ideal from Castle Realty where he served as a real estate agent. Brendemuel will now be a loan officer at Ideal Financial’s Mequon Branch. Julie Oehme will also be working as a loan officer in the Mequon office. David A. Wholihan has been named territory sales manager for HOST/Racine Industries, Racine. Wholihan joins HOST following an extensive background in sales and sales management as well as experience in the janitorial supply industry working with HOST products. Wholihan has worked with HOST distributors, covering Michigan territories. Now working directly with Racine Industries, his territories will include Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia and western Pennsylvania.
