Pair of homes sold for Mequon Town Center site assembly

Milwaukee-based WiRED Properties recently purchased two homes at 11229 N. Cedarburg Road, Mequon, from Mequon-based Shaffer Development LLC for $812,967. The deal is part of the site assembly for the mixed-use Mequon Town Center project that WiRED plans to build northwest of Mequon and Cedarburg roads in Mequon.

The mixed use Mequon Town Center project will have five buildings with about 32 apartments, retail space, professional office space and a new location for the American Legion Post.

WiRED will acquire and demolish the existing American Legion Post building on the site. A gas station building on the site will be relocated and redeveloped into the new American Legion Post building, said WiRED president Blair Williams.

The Lowlands Group plans to open a restaurant in the project and Alterra Coffee Roasters plans to open a café there, Williams said.

Construction is expected to begin in September, he said.
