Cudahy Farmers Market opens Friday

The city of Cudahy will open its Farmer’s Market at its new location on Packard Avenue on Friday, the occasion marks the first opening in the new location, and the first opening since market organizer and Cudahy resident Mike Pinter, 82, passed away recently.
“Mr. Pinter’s outstanding dedication to this community should serve as an example to all Cudahy residents “, said Mayor Tony Day. “He not only donated his time and talents to the Farmers Market but also to the historical society and the library. He will be deeply missed.”
Pinter was responsible for all aspects of the market over the last several years.
The new location, the city parking lot next to the Cudahy Family Library is a larger and more visible location that will allow for a greater number of vendors, shoppers and parking.
More than a dozen farmers and other vendors are expected to be at the market. Shoppers will find fresh-cut flowers and produce in addition to packaged foods, crafts, jewelry and other specialty gift items. The market will be open from 12 until 6 p.m. every Friday until October.
