Retailers, restaurants and egg-lovers alike are facing record high egg prices after the worst-ever outbreak of bird flu this year.

Wholesale prices for a dozen eggs jumped to $2.88 in the first week of August from $1.19 April 22, according to market research firm Urner Barry. Retail egg prices sit even higher.
