Organic Research Corp. one of five Wisconsin bioscience companies to win award

Milwaukee-based Organic Research Corp. is one of five Wisconsin bioscience companies to be named winners of BIOforward’s 2014 Emerging Company Showcase, sponsored by The Center for Technology Commercialization, Madison Gas and Electric, and First Business Bank.

The showcase is part of the 2014 Bioscience Vision Summit that will be held today at the Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison.

Organic Research Corp. develops digital pathology software tools that utilize advanced machine learning and image processing techniques to provide pathologists critical decision support by automatically identifying disease markers. Their flagship product, the Digital Liver Pathology Aid, assists pathologists diagnosing and researching therapeutics for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, a condition affecting more than 90 million Americans.

Organic Research Corp. was selected as a winner of the 2014 Emerging Company Showcase because it characterizes the diversity and innovation of technology within Wisconsin’s bioscience industry, according to Kathy Collins, business development director at BIOForward.

The other winners were BioTechnique in Madison, Cellara LLC in Madison, GelCombs LLC in Madison, and Kosmetikos in Marshfield.

BioForward is an organization that advances Wisconsin’s position as a leading life science community. It is also a state chapter of the national Biotechnology Industry Organization.
