Offsite LLC, founded in 2002 by Steve Borucki and Joe Rickard, provides data storage and disaster recovery services for business clients.
Offsite LLC
3618 8th Ave., Kenosha
Industry: Data center and disaster recovery service provider
Annual revenue: Not disclosed
Number of employees: 7
The company provides data storage that is flexible and customized to the needs of its clients. The disaster recovery services provide a backup to its clients’ data, plus work areas that clients and their essential employees can use if their office is unavailable as a result of a fire, flood or other disaster.
“You come in (after a disaster) and your computers here have everything that your work computers have,” Borucki said. In addition, the client’s phone number can be quickly transferred to the Offsite facility, he said.
“Our clients’ customers have no idea that they are here and not at their regular office,” Borucki said.
Offsite’s campus in Kenosha includes two buildings on a five-acre campus with approximately 50,000 square feet of space. The first building has been built out and the company is working on the second building.
The company strives to provide a higher level of customer service, especially compared to large technology firms, Borucki said.
“When you call into a big tech company, like Microsoft, for service, you can be on hold for 6 to 8 hours and then they send you to a call center overseas where you struggle to understand the person,” he said. “Our IT guys establish a relationship on a first name basis with our customers. It’s like they’re an extension of your employee base. I think that’s one of the things our customers really like about us.”
All of Offsite’s systems have backups to make sure none of them ever go down, Borucki said.
The company has seven employees and plans to double that in the next 18 months. Borucki would not disclose the company’s annual revenues but said it is in “seven figures” and is expected to double within the next year.
