As one of seven partners, Kursel oversees a company of 120-plus full-time employees across 46 cities, 22 states and three countries. “Abby is a lighthouse,” said Troy Vosseller, co-founder of gener8tor. “The Milwaukee/Wisconsin/United States entrepreneurial community would not be what it is without her contributions.” Kursel – with fellow partner Maggie Brickerman – helped create gener8tor’s gBETA accelerator program for startups with local roots. They have gone on to lead gener8tor’s nationally ranked investment accelerator. “Under (their) leadership, gener8tor’s 1,400-plus startup alumni have gone on to cumulatively raise more than $2 billion in follow-on venture capital and employ more than 11,000 people,” said Vosseller. “Notable Milwaukee gener8tor alumni include Fiveable, The Way Out, GenoPalate and Bright Cellars.”
