Patrick Ford had a career in cold-formed steel engineering that spanned 43 years, most recently working for Brookfield-based raSmith.

Prior to raSmith, Ford was principal and co-owner of Matsen Ford Design Associates. When Matsen Ford was acquired by raSmith in 2018, he joined the company as senior structural project manager.

Holding professional engineering licenses in 20 states, Ford served as the technical director of the Steel Framing Industry Association for 12 years and chair of the American Iron and Steel Institute Committee on Framing Standards.

Ford is a lifetime member of the Cold-Formed Steel Engineering Institute, where he held the positions of past president, director and technical editor. Other organizations he was involved in include the American Institute of Steel Construction, American National Standards Institute, American Society of Civil Engineers, American Society for Testing and Materials, Association of the Wall and Ceiling Industries, Center for Cold-Formed Steel Structures, and the National Society of Professional Engineers.
