Not too late to purchase Girl Scout Cookies

The Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast (GSWISE) recently announced that Girl Scout cookies will be available for sale at a number of locations throughout Southeastern Wisconsin through April. Cookie shops will be held throughout Southeastern Wisconsin from March 7 through April 19. Many retail outlets including various Pick N Save, Sentry, Walmart, Piggly-Wiggly, and K-Mart, are opening their doors to Girl Scouts cookie sales on selected dates.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center, 1531 W. Vliet St. will host Girl Scout Cookie sales on Monday, March 9 and Tuesday, March 10 from noon to 7 p.m. The Kosciusko Community Center, 2201 S. 7th Street, will also host cookie sales on Wednesday, March 11 from noon until 6 p.m.

Molly Fuller, chief executive officer of The Girl Scouts of Wisconsin Southeast reminded buyers that supporting the cookie program teaches girls important business skills like money management and customer service.

Proceeds from the cookie sales benefit various troop activities throughout the year.

“I know one central city troop that relies heavily on their cookie shop sales to fund their annual trip to Great America,” said Fuller. “It’s a great way for the girls to bond, learn sales and marketing, and gain confidence while interacting with their customers. These skills prepare them for their adult working years.”
