North Shore Bank among Best Banks to Work For

Brookfield-based North Shore Bank has been named among American Banker’s 2014 Best Banks to Work For.

The bank, which has $1.8 billion in assets and 496 employees, was ranked No. 28 on the list. The ranking highlighted North Shore’s internal social networking site, which allows employees to recognize each other for birthdays, work anniversaries, or work well done, and receive incentive points from managers.

The American Banker also highlighted the bank’s commitment to community service through its worn flag collections and community shredding days, and employee wellness programs including free flu shots and biometric screenings.

North Shore Bank has 47 branches in eastern Wisconsin and northern Illinois.

The award recognizes commercial banks, thrifts, mutual associations, mutual savings banks, savings and loan associations and savings banks with 50 or more employees across the country.

Manitowoc-based Bank First National, Berlin-based 1st National Bank and Eau Claire-based Charter Bank were also among the 40 banks named to this year’s list.

“We are truly honored to receive this distinguished award for the second year in a row,” said Molly Schissler, vice president of human resources for North Shore Bank. “Our dedicated employees and their commitment to our customers are the driving force behind our success. It takes the best employees to be recognized as the best bank.”
