Karen Von Rueden has been named vice president of development for the Zoological Society of Milwaukee. Von Rueden will oversee fund-raising and development for the non-profit ZSM as part of its mission to conserve wildlife, to educate people about the environment and to support the Milwaukee County Zoo. “I believe I am coming at a critical time in expanding support for one of the most popular cultural facilities in Milwaukee,” Von Rueden said. “I also found it intriguing to be associated with the Zoological Society’s mission of conservation and education, which is extremely important to me.” Von Rueden previously served as senior director of advancement at Cardinal Stritch University and as development director at Friends of Boerner Botanical Gardens.
