*Friday, Nov. 8, ArtWorks for Milwaukee will hold its annual benefit to raise funds for its 2014 internship program, which pays teenage interns who are facing barriers to employment to complete an art project and teaches them soft work skills along the way. The event, themed “Night by the River,” will include hors d’oeuvres as well as samples of craft beer, fine wines and cocktails. It will also feature live and silent auctions with donated items and services from area businesses along with original artwork from program interns. Event organizers hope to draw at least 400 people to the fundraiser. The event will begin at 6 p.m. and will be held at the City Center at 735, located at 735 N. Water St. in Milwaukee. *Saturday, Nov. 9, Guitars for Vets (G4V) in partnership with the Harley Davidson Museum will hold a benefit concert titled “Rock The Rumble” to raise funds for G4V as well as awareness around its nonprofit mission to provide free guitars and music lessons to military veterans. The event will run from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at Harley Davidson Rumble Room, located at the museum at 400 W. Canal St. in Milwaukee. *Saturday, Nov. 9, the 10th annual Sip & Taste fundraiser will be held to benefit Community Projects for Seniors and provide free meals for low-income elderly residents in 60 cities across the region’s eight counties. The fundraiser will include complimentary sips and tastes of wines and beers, complimentary non-alcoholic beverages, samples of food from area establishments, and a raffle. The event will run from 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in the gym at the Marian Center for Nonprofits, located at 3211 S. Lake Dr. in St. Francis. Cost is $30 per person. *Monday, Nov. 11, the Helen Bader Institute for Nonprofit Management at UW-Milwaukee will hold an information session on its two graduate nonprofit education programs, a Masters of Science in Nonprofit Management and Leadership and a Graduate Certificate in Nonprofit Management. The programs give students the skills, knowledge and credibility needed to manage and lead nonprofit organizations in accounting, board governance, fund development, marketing and human resources among other specialty areas. Topics of discussion will include program curriculum, admissions requirements, financial aid and UW-Milwaukee’s efforts to improve organizational effectiveness in the region. The information session will run from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at UW-Milwaukee at 3230 E. Kenwood Blvd. in Milwaukee. To RSVP, call 414-229-3176.
