*Saturday, March 9, the third annual Grand Slam Charity Jam will take place to benefit Camp Hometown Heroes, a free week-long camp for Wisconsin children who have lost a family member in the U.S. military. The event will be held at Potawatomi Bingo Casino, 1721 W. Canal St. in Milwaukee, and will include a dinner party, a VIP after-party, a silent auction, guest appearances by celebrities like 2012 Miss America Laura Kaeppeler, and a concert featuring performances by country music singer Phil Vassar and American Idol Danny Gokey among others. Concert tickets cost $25 to $40, and tickets for the concert and dinner range from $100 to $500. Tickets are limited. Attendees must be at least 21 years old. *Monday, March 11, Historic Milwaukee, Inc. (HMI) will present “Envisioning the Seen,” an experimental civic discussion focused on the future of Milwaukee. The event will bring together the minds of Milwaukee leaders to open up dialogue about how they see Milwaukee progressing and ways to overcome barriers that prevent the city from reaching its potential. *Tuesday, March 12, Life Navigators’ Evening of Friends and Fare will be held at the Boelter SuperStore, 4200 N. Port Washington Rd. in Milwaukee, from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The event, hosted by Life Navigators’ young professionals committee and sponsored by Boelter SuperStore, will support the nonprofit’s mission to encourage children and adults with disabilities to lead active lives and connect with their communities. *Thursday, March 14, the Greater Milwaukee Foundation will hold the second annual Match Day to raise money for 21 area nonprofits. Throughout the day, individuals can make online donations to any of the organizations involved or to the Greater Milwaukee Foundation’s Basic Needs Fund. Each donation will be proportionately matched, up to $750,000, through a network of community funders.
