*Friday, July 25, German Fest will hold The Capuchins’ Run/Walk for the Hungry, a 5K run and non-competitive 2-mile walk that will raise funds for St. Ben’s Community Meal and House of Peace. The 5K run, which will be timed, starts at 7 p.m., and the 2-mile walk starts at 7:15 p.m. on German Fest grounds at Henry W. Maier Festival Park, located at 200 N. Harbor Dr. in Milwaukee. Registration is closed online but is still available at the south gate of German Fest grounds. Participants will be granted German Fest admissions, a race T-shirt, $5 coupon for food and drinks and a two-for-one coupon to get back into German Fest another day. *Wednesday, July 30, the Nonprofit Center of Milwaukee will hold a workshop focused on “Turning Business Connections into Corporate Partnerships” under its Planners & Grant Writers Roundtable. The workshop will feature a panel discussion highlighting how nonprofit organizations can develop and enhance mutually beneficial relationships with businesses. The event will run from 9 to 11 a.m. at Manpower Inc., located at 100 Manpower Place in Milwaukee. Cost is $15 for Nonprofit Center members and CDBG agencies and $35 for non-members. *Thursday, July 31, Jazz in the Park will showcase CALJE: Chicago Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble Quintet. The music groups largely feeds off a blend of jazz and Latin rhythms. The live music will run from 6 to 9 p.m. with a Happy Hour starting at 5 p.m. Jazz in the Park, presented by Boston Store and Columbia St. Mary’s, is held each Thursday in Cathedral Square Park in downtown Milwaukee through Sept. 4. The summer concerts, which draw musicians from across the region and country, are free and open to the public and also feature food and beverage vendors onsite. *Thursday, Aug. 7, the Milwaukee Art Museum will grant free admission to family and individual visitors, thanks to the support of Target. Free admission is awarded on the first Thursday of each month with help from Target. Groups are not eligible for the promotion. The museum is open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and is located at 700 N. Art Museum Drive in Milwaukee. For more information on its exhibits, visit www.mam.org.
